ARIZONA - Opportunity to Comment Preliminary EA for Proposed Changes to the Motorized Travel System Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber, The Coronado National Forest, Douglas Ranger District, has prepared a preliminary environmental assessment (EA) for Proposed Changes to the Motorized Travel System on the Douglas Ranger District. Comments are sought on the proposal (see below). The proposed project is located on National Forest System Lands in portions of Cochise County in southern Arizona and Hidalgo County in southwestern New Mexico. It is intended to provide a system of National Forest System roads, trails, and areas designated for motor vehicle use on the district that will minimize impacts to natural and cultural resources while providing adequate access to the public as well as Forest staff and law enforcement and emergency response personnel. The preliminary EA is available online at http://www.fs.fed.us/nepa/nepa_project_exp.php?project=36555. The preliminary EA and supporting documentation is also available for review at the Douglas Ranger District Office, 1192 West Saddleview Road in Douglas, Arizona 85607. Additional information regarding this action can be obtained from the district office. Specific written comments on the proposed project will be accepted during a 30-day comment period which will end on April 4, 2016. Comments should fall within the scope of the proposed action, have a direct relationship to the proposed action, and must include supporting reasons for the Responsible Official to consider.
