TEXAS - NPS Releases Draft GMP/EIS For Lake Meredith NRA and Alibates Flint Quarries NM

The National Park Service (NPS) has announces the availability of a Draft General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (GMP/EIS) for Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument, Texas. The plan defines how the parks' resources, visitors, and facilities will be managed for the next 15 to 20 years. A limited number of hard copies or compact discs of the plan are also available from the park upon request. The National Park Service (NPS) has announces the availability of a Draft General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (GMP/EIS) for Lake Meredith National Recreation Area and Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument, Texas. The plan defines how the parks' resources, visitors, and facilities will be managed for the next 15 to 20 years.

The park will be hosting two open house meetings on the draft plan. The purpose of the meetings is to introduce the draft plan and answer any questions participants may have. During the meeting there will also be an opportunity to provide comments on the draft plan. (See schedule below.)

Comments on this General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement are welcome and will be accepted during the 60-day public review and comment period, from April 1 - May 31, 2013. If you wish to comment you may submit your comments by any one of several methods. You are encouraged to submit comments via the Internet at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/LAMR. You may also mail comments to National Park Service, Denver Service Center-Erin Flanagan, P.O. Box 25287, Denver, CO 80225. Finally, you may hand-deliver comments to 419 E. Broadway, Fritch, TX 79036.

CALIFORNIA - Public Invited to Rasor Off-Highway Vehicle Area Tour and Comment
